This is a story about a girl who grew up adoring her Uncle Lump. Her memories go back to being 5 years old dressed up as a bride and he cried, anxiously awaiting his arrival to visit in his Allied Van Line truck, teaching her to water ski by bribing pepperoni pizzas if she got up on skis, letting her drive his pickup truck for a little bit from Dallas to Houston while only 13, crying at her wedding, sharing her love of the Gulf of Mexico, and finally her love of family, entertaining and good food. Uncle Lump and her Daddy worked tirelessly while having lots of fun, later in life at Lumpy’s Restaurant at Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas. Uncle Lump was suddenly taken from his family several years ago. In his memory, this adult girl wanted to continue his tradition of family and food through the creation of Lumpy’s Salsa. Inspired by Uncle Lump and Daddy for their love of salsa and fun gatherings, encouraged by family and friends in Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, Colorado, Alabama, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Arizona, and others, Lumpy’s Salsa was created in his memory. This girl is me.
